About The Position

As a Furnace Operator, you will regulate the temperature of the furnace and charge a mixture of gates, scrap, and ingot in the correct proportions and of the correct alloy. You will add the necessary fluxes and master alloys to each heat, degas metal as required, and test for the presence of gas in molten metal. You will remove molten metal from the furnace when it is at the proper pouring temperature and record temperature and treatment additions for quality control requirements. Additionally, you will remove slag from molten metal, transport ladles of metal to the proper molding line, and pour metal into molds at the proper height and rate, compatible with the size and structure of the casting. This role is in an air-conditioned/heated state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Holds a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
