Requirements

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing and walking for almost the entirety of the shift
  • Champion all safety rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Wear all required PPE
  • Report incidents, near misses, and safety hazards
  • Promote safety culture

Responsibilities

  • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist manufacturing with preparing and inspecting bulk product. Reporting and removing defects as needed (i.e. deformed, discolored, misshaped, etc.)
  • Proper communication protocol with all manufacturing, quality and other operations staff to communicate and escalate product or equipment issues as needed.
  • Equipment operation to include, but not limited to: heavy machinery and forklift, along with general tools such as wrenches, tape measure, and hammers.
  • Participate in training and certification programs as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment by removing scrap and other waste, checking machines, and identifying potential hazards.
  • Check work orders, properly select processed material checking for weight, alloy, size, and quality.
  • Properly complete all documentation, work orders, tags, time sheets, etc.
  • Transport and load processed coils for annealing using forklift.
  • Start up and shut down the furnace, set up and operate the control panels and edge guide system.
  • Use spot welder for attaching leader to material.
  • Properly select temperature, speed, and atmosphere required for annealing.
  • Select cores that will ensure uniformity of stack, weight, and customer requirements.
  • Visually inspect strip for proper quality.
  • Spot weld and grind material.
  • Check concentration, temperature, voltage, and overall operation of equipment.
  • Transport coils for further processing using forklift.
  • Train new operators, if necessary.
  • Properly use micrometer, welder, grinder, and cutters.
  • Cut samples for quality control.
  • Assist supervisor/manager and other operators as needed
