About The Position

Boyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking a Metal Hauler in our Allenton, WI location. The Furnace & Material Handling Operator (Metal Hauler) is a member of Boyd Thermal by Eaton’s Die Casting Team and a key member of the Furnace Department. The primary responsibility of this position is transporting metal and related materials to supply the foundry with molten metal. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, prioritizes tasks, able to work independently and maintains a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is highly skilled at operating a forklift. Adaptability and a team-oriented mindset are crucial as you contribute to the overall success of our manufacturing goals. This position is for 1st shift (7am-3pm or 6a-2p). Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization on a professional level
• Basic reasoning skills and language skills (ability to read, listen, analyze, and interpret general business paperwork)
• Ability to accurately complete shop paperwork
• Prior forklift experience required
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch and use hands to handle tools, parts, and equipment
• Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
• Specific vision abilities are required for this job and include close and distance vision, color, peripheral vision, and ability to focus
• Candidate will not need sponsorship now or in the future.
• Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles/80 kilometers) of the Allenton facility will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Transfer molten aluminum from breakdown furnace to holding furnace to maintain continuous production
• Separate and segregate the different alloys to prevent mixing in furnace
• Charge breakdown furnaces by safely adding ingot and scrap aluminum to breakdown furnace to provide adequate volume and temperature of molten metal
• Move containers to and from die-cast machines as directed
• Operate spectrometer
• Clean and maintain all melting and holding furnaces
• Assist in managing and directing all operations in the furnace department
• Load and unload trucks as required
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Adhere to all Company policies and procedures related to safety, conduction, and manufacturing practices
• Support and follow the QMS requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
