Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in funeral service preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
  • Confidence working with people in emotionally sensitive moments
  • Tech-savvy enough to manage documents, emails, scheduling, and video presentations
  • A calm presence, good judgment, and attention to detail
  • Available to work any day of the week including weekends and some holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred for Funeral Directors)
  • California Funeral Director License (if applying as a Funeral Director)
  • Funeral Arranger Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Valid CA driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work indoors/outdoors in various weather

Responsibilities

  • Manage everything involved in planning and carrying out funerals, cremations, and related services.
  • Meet with families to plan services that reflect their loved one’s life.
  • Coordinate with clergy, vendors, and internal staff to ensure every detail is handled.
  • Manage legal documentation like death certificates, permits, and insurance paperwork.
  • Organize transportation, service flow, and product selections (urns, caskets, etc.).
  • Support pre-arrangement planning and help people make decisions ahead of time.
  • Be present and involved on the day of services—ensuring things go smoothly, from start to finish.
