About The Position

ArchCity Defenders (ACD) is a holistic legal advocacy organization dedicated to combating the criminalization of poverty and state violence, particularly in communities of color. ACD's work encompasses civil and criminal legal representation, social services, impact litigation, policy and media advocacy, and community collaboration to achieve justice and equitable outcomes. The organization envisions a society free from oppressive systems, where justice and racial equity are realized, public safety prioritizes well-being and transformation over criminalization, and people can thrive in their communities. ACD focuses on broad-based change within the St. Louis region's criminal legal system, utilizing impact litigation and direct representation across various legal areas. The Development team at ACD educates the community and donors about the organization's mission, advocates for important issues, secures resources (monetary, in-kind, volunteer), coordinates with funders, and supports the Communications team.
