About The Position

Brewer Science, Inc. is seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Funding Analyst I, II, or III. This position will be located in Rolla, MO. Funding Analysts work in a diverse and dynamic environment with a team of business analysts and end users. Responsibilities will include proposal preparation for the financial data for all funding programs, financial analysis, and serving as financial liaison with other groups within the company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years' experience in related field or Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field and 4+ years’ experience in related field or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field and 2+ years’ experience in related field or MBA or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and 1+ years of experience in ERP or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 8+ years' experience in related field or Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field and 6+ years’ experience in related field or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field and 4+ years’ experience in a related field or MBA or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and 2+ years’ experience in a related field and 3+ years of experience in ERP or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 10+ years' experience in related field or Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field and 8+ years’ experience in related field or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field and 6+ years’ experience in a related field or MBA or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and 4+ years’ experience in a related field or 7+ years of experience in ERP or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of grant requests, for government and non-government agencies, including collecting, analyzing and reporting on performance of program activities.
  • Complete monthly/quarterly billing for current open grant programs.
  • Assist end of contract process, including disposal of equipment/machinery purchased during grant activities.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the R&D groups by collecting and analyzing financial data.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making purposes.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as requested by management.
  • Assist with surveys, including annual government and customer surveys.
  • Assist with annual audits for finance and grant requests.
  • Assist with annual R&D tax credit process.
  • Month-end closing, including journal entries, accruals and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and provide insights.
  • Prepare and assist in expense/revenue projections for the monthly forecast and annual budget.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including budget vs. actual analysis and forecasting reports for R&D groups.
  • Lead the preparation of grant requests, for government and non-government agencies, including collecting, analyzing and reporting on performance of program activities.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify key performance indicators, areas for improvement, and to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain advanced financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis for funded contracts and R&D groups.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand their financial needs and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of various business strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand operational drivers and provide financial insights.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for Funding and R&D groups.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic financial decision-making.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and industry trends.
  • Represent the finance team in meetings with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and auditors.
  • Research, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing federal contracts and administrating contract close out.
  • Perform and provide financial analyses, reconciliation, and research dealing with government contracts.
  • Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators.
