About The Position

This Co-op experience provides participants with a meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies. In addition to daily responsibilities, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a series of structured activities designed to enhance their learning experience including: Co-Op New Hire Orientation, Senior Leadership Speaker Series, Social & Networking Events, and Presentation Challenges. At the conclusion of this position, co-ops will have increased their knowledge of investing, the mutual fund industry, employee engagement, and a firm understanding of how fund treasury works at an asset manager. MFS co-op positions are a 6-month commitment, working Monday – Friday (beginning on Wednesday, January 13th through Friday June 25th, 2027), and work between 35-40 hours. Our program is designed for undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a co-op program through their college or university and can meet our requirements.

Requirements

Working toward a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in accounting or other related financial discipline.
Experience working in a diverse environment where production, controls, and deadlines are required preferred.
Good analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
Experience or familiarity with MS Excel.

Responsibilities

Instruct and coordinate payment instructions to external vendors to ensure payments are made timely and accurately.
Prepares and monitors asset based fees, expense caps, fund expense ratios, expense budgets, and prepares additional deliverables as needed.
Prepare distribution rate worksheets for review by Accounting Manager.
Ensure communication of dividend rates, via Press Releases and Daily Rate Memos, is completed in a timely fashion.
Monitor As-of Capstock activity, on a daily basis and communicate any necessary adjustments to the custodian bank.
Review daily money market yields, SEC Yields and support the defaulted bond communications and payment tracking process.
