Functional Safety Architect

NXP Semiconductors•Austin, TX

About The Position

NXP's CTO Functional Safety Competence Centre (FuSa CC) is a central engineering organization responsible for safety architecture and management across NXP's Automotive, Edge, Audio, Analog, and Radar Processing business lines. The team develops functional safety solutions for a wide range of SoC products, from cost-sensitive, low-power devices to highly integrated, high-performance, multi-domain devices, compliant with current automotive and industrial safety standards. The Functional Safety Architect delivers functional safety platform and IP solutions for automotive and industrial products compliant with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508. The role defines safety requirements for platform and IP modules; supports their development as SEooC throughout the lifecycle in collaboration with internal design teams; prepares safety modules for functional safety assessment; supports SoC integration and implementation of IP assumptions of use; and performs safety analysis and fault injection. The architect also contributes to NXP's functional safety expert community, helps define safety features and roadmaps, collaborates with internal and external IP teams, and reports compliance status, gaps, and mitigation actions to management.
