About The Position

The Sr. Functional Safety Engineer performs functional safety analysis of internally designed application and/or platform software and contributes to creating software safety requirements and developing safe software architecture. The role works closely with vehicle and hardware functional safety teams, software development, testing, and systems teams to deliver safety software across multiple programs and variants. The engineer derives software and technical safety requirements, supports their implementation, conducts software safety analyses, and leads safety architecture development. The work includes ASIL decomposition, freedom-from-interference and dependent-failure analyses, deriving software safety measures, preparing fault-injection test cases for SIL and HIL testing, supporting hardware-software interface content, and helping define coding guidelines and qualify software tools. The role also develops verification and validation methods and documents safety requirements, analyses, architecture implementation, and verification and validation activities for RVT ECUs.
