About The Position

Spurwink is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to empower youth and families by creating strength-based behavior change that will be sustained long after treatment ends. The role involves working with families, youth, their communities, and other key members of their ecology to implement the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model. FFT is an evidence-based treatment proven to help youth aged 10-18 make life-transforming changes by addressing challenging and/or problematic behavior. The course of FFT treatment is typically 3-6 months.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Previous experience in the behavioral health field working with youth and families.
• Exception Request for Functional Family Therapy Hire approved by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services is required.
• Must maintain required licensing and certification throughout the duration of employment with Spurwink in this role.
• Maintain a current Maine driver's license and a clean driving record as outlined in Spurwink's Driving policy.

Responsibilities

• Work with families in their own homes.
• Be flexible to work when families are available to meet.
• Work independently and contribute to a team trained in the FFT evidenced-based model of treatment.
• Implement FFT as designed.
• Empower families to address challenging and/or problematic behavior.
• Help youth aged 10-18 make life-transforming changes.
