About The Position

Under the administrative/clinical supervision of the FFT Clinical Supervisor, the Functional Family Therapist provides Intensive Home Based Treatment to clients and their families. The Functional Family Therapist is expected to meet the program’s benchmarks for clinical excellence and productivity target for billable service each week. Therapist will be required to carry a caseload as identified per model or Supervisor discretion. This position requires flexibility in hours to meet families when they are available. Specifically, the therapist will utilize the FFT model with families who have adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18. Services take place in the home and community. Work hours are flexible, some evenings hours are expected as this position requires flexibility in hours to meet families when they are available. There are no subordinates to this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field required.
  • Valid Ohio LSW/LISW, LMFT/IMFT or LPC/LPCC required
  • Possess skill, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential duties of their role; keeps knowledge up to date.

  • Demonstrate competence in utilizing Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
  • Experience in working with children, adolescents and their families.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in chemical dependency treatment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company.
  • Must be approved by Bellefaire to transport clients in own vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Accept assignment of cases as assigned to provide home or community based FFT services.
  • Provide, at a minimum, weekly one-hour, home-based family therapy sessions to clients.
  • Utilize the FFT model with families who have adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18.
  • Carry a required caseload as identified per model or Supervisor discretion, providing services anywhere from three to six months.
  • Provide and participate in the following services, including, but not limited to: evaluations and assessments, participation in the development of the client’s Treatment Service Plan (ITP), crisis work – providing assistance and support in crisis situations, support, including education and consultation for families and/or significant others regarding the clients’ mental illness, family interventions; symptom monitoring and self management of symptoms; assistance in increasing social support skills and networks, coordination of necessary evaluations and assessments; coordination of all services identified on the client’s ITP, necessary follow-up to determine if services have adequately met the needs of the client, access to resources in the community.
  • Work a flexible workweek and provides evening and weekend on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
  • Maintain and keep all required trainings, certifications and licensure current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings, consultation with the FFT consultant, individual supervision, and on-going training.
  • Coordination with other child serving entities per individual family need.
  • Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
