This role involves analyzing, determining, and documenting functional requirements related to the accessibility of websites and related solutions. The Functional Architect will define and align business and technical requirements for accessibility, conduct impact analyses of business requirements on customer-facing applications and websites, and gather/interpret user and legal accessibility requirements into design specifications. Responsibilities include participating in or leading the design of customer-facing websites and applications, reviewing and editing website code for accessibility, and leading testing to ensure accessibility compliance. The role also requires communicating status updates, following quality standards, and working effectively in a team environment. The individual will act as the functional expert on accessibility for websites and applications within the Department of Neighborhoods, providing expertise in business processes supported by web hosting platforms and related applications. This includes defining the functional architecture of websites and customer-facing applications, planning and developing user interface strategy in alignment with accessibility requirements, and identifying/tracking issues, risks, and action items. The role also involves determining time estimates and schedules for work and resolving issues in a timely manner.
