About The Position

Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled Functional Analyst to support an innovative program. You will bring deep expertise in experimental physics and quantum systems, enabling evaluation of emerging R&D efforts and advising on technical direction across a diverse portfolio spanning optics and electronics. Join our innovative team and contribute to impactful national security initiatives. As part of the Ventus Solutions team, you’ll collaborate with government and industry leaders to develop constructive architecture models that inform decision-making at the highest levels of the Department of Defense.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics (Applied Physics or related discipline), or Master’s with significant hands-on experimental experience.
  • Strong background in experimental physics and optics.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing scientific research and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to conduct literature reviews and synthesize complex technical data.
  • Experience supporting or interacting with R&D programs or research environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) Physics
  • Expertise in Synthetic quantum emitters (quantum dots, color centers)
  • Expertise in Microwave superconducting qubits and circuits
  • Experience with DoD or similar advanced research programs
  • Experience with First-principles analysis and/or theoretical physics
  • Experience with Technical risk assessment and program evaluation
  • TS/SCI preferred
