About The Position

The Fully Connected Scholarship Program is a partnership between empirical and Garden City Community College designed to provide individuals with no prior manufacturing experience an opportunity to enter the manufacturing field. This program offers participants hands-on manufacturing experience and enrollment in a program leading to Certificate C credentials. Participants will work alongside current employees, contributing to the plant's success while gaining valuable insights into manufacturing technology at empirical. This technical work-study program allows students to gain practical experience while earning a certificate in GCCC’s Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Program. Scholarship recipients will have their tuition, fees, and books covered, and will receive competitive pay for part-time work at an empirical manufacturing facility. The program includes paid classroom, lab, and study time, with a work schedule that accommodates classes. Upon successful completion, participants are eligible for employment at empirical in a technical role with a competitive salary and benefits package. Accepted applicants begin with a summer work program. Successful completion of the summer work, including performance, attendance, and demonstrated attitude and aptitude, leads to the "Fully Connected" scholarship. Recipients must also maintain good standing in the GCCC Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Program with a minimum 2.5 GPA and commit to working a minimum of sixteen (16) hours per week at empirical during the program. Scholarship recipients receive full tuition for the Fully Connected Finish program, paid classroom and lab time, and a partial work schedule at an empirical site, all coordinated around academic commitments. As members of the empirical team, participants can expect a great salary, exceptional benefits, opportunities for advancement, and long-term job security.
