About The Position
Pelico's platform helps leading manufacturers anticipate and respond to supply chain disruptions. The company is developing a new agentic orchestration platform that will allow external companies to autonomously build and deploy their own agents. The role involves being a founding engineer on this new platform, working hands-on to build features that manufacturers and their AI teams will use. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with customers and factory data, leveraging existing company assets like data, dependency graphs, and AI algorithms.
Requirements
- Excellent engineering skills with a track record of shipping real, full-stack products.
- Proficiency in both Python backend and React frontend development, or the ability to quickly acquire these skills.
- Hunger and drive to own hard problems and grow into more significant roles.
- Rigorous approach to non-deterministic systems, including specing and evaluating before shipping.
- AI-native mindset with an understanding of agent frameworks, tools, and evals, and daily use of AI coding tools.
- Ability to remain effective and turn uncertainty into a workable plan in a fast-moving environment.
Nice To Haves
- Real AI/agent product experience (MCP, agent frameworks, evals).
- Experience with durable workflow engines (e.g., Temporal).
- Experience with streaming UIs.
- Experience with observability tools (OpenTelemetry).
- Experience with spec-driven development.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS.
- Experience in aerospace/defense/discrete-manufacturing context.
Responsibilities
- Ship agent capabilities end to end, building features from the tool/MCP and orchestration backend through to the React console.
- Harden the runtime by ensuring durable execution, retries, scheduling, and human-in-the-loop approvals for agent actions.
- Make agents trustworthy by growing the evaluation harness (scenario evals, LLM-as-judge) to catch regressions in agent behavior.
- Build a reliable console for real-time streaming of agent events, tool calls, and approvals.
- Set a craft bar by writing specs, maintaining the frontend/backend contract, and establishing reusable patterns for the team.
