About The Position

Quizlet is a leading learning platform with over 60 million users, powering over 1 billion learning interactions weekly. We utilize cognitive science and machine learning to personalize the learning experience. This role involves designing and delivering AI-powered learning tools. The Fullstack Engineering teams are responsible for building the core product experiences, from user-facing features to backend services, focusing on high-quality, reliable, and scalable systems. This position is for Fullstack Engineers across multiple levels (Staff - Principal Engineers), with leveling determined during the interview process. The role requires working across the stack to design, build, and ship product features end-to-end, contributing to both frontend and backend systems for a seamless, performant, and engaging user experience. Success is measured by the ability to deliver high-impact features, improve system quality, and contribute to team velocity. This is an onsite position in either Denver or San Francisco, requiring employees to be in the office at least three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) to support collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience building and shipping production systems across frontend and backend
  • Strong proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React, APIs, backend services)
  • Experience with scalable systems and performance optimization
  • Ability to work across ambiguity and drive projects end-to-end
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship end-to-end product features across frontend and backend systems
  • Design scalable, maintainable services and APIs
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data partners to define and deliver solutions
  • Improve performance, reliability, and user experience across the product
  • Contribute to code quality, testing, and engineering best practices
  • Participate in system design, code reviews, and team planning
