About The Position

Eastern Elementary is seeking a Full Year Guest Teacher (Building Substitute) for the 2026/27 school year. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position. The selected applicant will be paid $25.35 per hour and may need to apply through ESS Midwest if hired. The role involves day-to-day assignments at Eastern Elementary, reporting every instructional day. Daily positions will be prearranged via the WillSub system. In the absence of specific coverage needs, the Guest Teacher will report to the building administrator for support assignments within the building, which may include special education aide duties.

Requirements

• Minimum of 60 credit hours from a college/university/community college required for a day-to-day substitute permit through the Michigan Department of Education.
• Must meet minimum requirements for a day-to-day substitute permit.

Responsibilities

• Report every instructional day to Eastern Elementary.
• Fulfill day-to-day substitute assignments as prearranged via the WillSub system.
• Report to the building administrator for instruction on where support is needed within the building when specific coverage is not needed.
• Provide support in special education aide assignments when necessary.
