About The Position

A two-household family on the Upper West Side of NYC is seeking a full-time, live-out nanny for their two children, aged 12 and 14. The parents live within three blocks of each other. The schedule is Monday from 3pm-10pm, and Tuesday through Friday from 3pm-7/8pm, with occasional later evenings. The position guarantees 40 hours of pay weekly. Occasional weekend coverage or overnight care during parent travel may be required. The role is set to begin in late June or early July and does not involve summer travel.

Requirements

• Experience with adolescents/teenagers.
• Teaching experience.
• Experience with children aged 12 & 14.
• Ability to set firm boundaries with love, be gentle but effective with limit setting.
• Engaging children in real life activities rather than relying on phones/social media/screens for entertainment or in excess around the children.

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Picking up the first child at 3pm and occasionally the other child around 5pm (afterschool activities will be close to home/school).
• Meal preparation and feeding for the children.
• Overseeing homework.
• Children's laundry.
• Keeping their rooms organized and teaching them to do this themselves.
• Engaging in conversations with the children.
• Modeling healthy screen time habits.
