About The Position

A family is seeking a full-time nanny to support the care and development of their toddler within a warm, highly involved household. This is a team-oriented role, working alongside hands-on parents and another caregiver. The position is primarily focused on the youngest child, with only occasional overlap supporting older siblings. The ideal candidate is reliable, grounded, and confident in their judgment, with strong experience caring for toddlers in a city environment. The family is looking for someone who can take initiative, both inside and outside the home, while maintaining structure, consistency, and a calm, steady presence. The role is best suited for a nanny who enjoys being part of a collaborative environment, communicates clearly, and takes pride in contributing to the overall flow of the home. The schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Consistency and punctuality are essential. The family travels occasionally; during those times, the nanny will continue to be paid, though travel is not required.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willing to be paid on a W-2 basis.
  • Recent NYC nanny experience required.
  • Able to provide strong references and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a toddler.
  • Plan and lead daily outings and activities, confidently navigating a city environment (parks, classes, walks, etc.).
  • Maintain consistent routines, including meals, naps, and transitions.
  • Engage the child in age-appropriate play that supports development and independence.
  • Exercise strong judgment and decision-making, both in and out of the home.
  • Collaborate with parents and grandparent to ensure alignment and consistency in care.
  • Support light household upkeep during downtime, including: Tidying common areas and play spaces, Loading/unloading the dishwasher, Maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Occasionally assist with care for older children for short periods.
  • Provide enrichment through language exposure or cultural activities (if applicable).
