The School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at Madison College is hiring a full-time Math instructor . The Math department serves over 2,500 students enrolled across 25+ unique math courses, including 40% students of color. Our faculty support a vibrant and diverse student body. Our students bring a variety of goals, from workforce readiness to academic transfer aspirations. As a department, we also offer robust opportunities for high school students, including a STEM Academy and dual credit course offerings. The department is seeking a reflective and innovative educator who will teach 15 to 20 contact hours across the math department curriculum, from its foundational courses though the calculus sequence and beyond. Our faculty are expected to be innovative in their teaching approaches including use of active learning strategies and leveraging technology like Open Educational Resources (OER) to teach both synchronous and asynchronous courses. In addition, faculty should be comfortable using learning management systems (Madison College currently uses Brightspace) and implementing various instructional delivery methods, from face-to-face to technology-based modalities. Full-time faculty work a nine-month contract for the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters), and teaching summer courses, if available, is optional with additional pay.
