About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology and Public Health Promotion at California State University, Stanislaus invites applications for a full-time lecturer appointment. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching 30 units each academic year across a variety of public health courses. These courses can be delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, and online asynchronous formats. Potential courses include, but are not limited to: Introduction to Public Health, Health Behavior, Public Health Evaluation and Research, Program Design, Family Health, Coordinated School Health, or Public Health Disparities. Workload assignments also include attending department meetings and maintaining appropriate communication with the university, students, and faculty. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.

Requirements

  • Master of Public Health (MPH), Masters of Science in Public Health or a Masters in a health-related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage the volume of work.
  • Basic computer and software knowledge and skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MPH and prior experience teaching undergraduate health related courses face-to-face, hybrid, and online or a PhD.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Experience in the field of public health and/or CHES or CPH endorsed.
  • Experience with learning management systems, such as Canvas.
  • Ability to manage academic responsibilities, meet deadlines and adjust priorities when appropriate.
  • Skills with and/or ability to learn computer systems and software, and other multimedia skills.
  • Certificate of quality online teaching training.

Responsibilities
