About The Position

Westcliff University is seeking a full-time College of Technology and Engineering faculty member to support its mission, core values, and student success. Under the guidance of the Dean and Program Chairs, faculty provide exemplary instruction and support to students. The role requires a terminal degree in the relevant field, appropriate teaching credentials, at least five courses taught at the undergraduate or graduate level before appointment, considerable industry experience, and demonstrated excellence in online and on-campus teaching. Candidates must have strong software development experience, including web development, and be able to travel approximately 10% of the time—typically once or twice annually—to satellite campuses for Professional Weekends or to international affiliate institutions. The primary commitment is to Westcliff’s mission and student success. Faculty commit at least 40 hours per week, excluding vacations and paid holidays, with additional hours sometimes necessary. Faculty are expected to be present on a campus when possible, hold regular virtual office hours, and attend and participate in three 24-hour Professional Weekend Residencies per academic year. Approximately 75% of weekly time is allocated to teaching, doctoral committee or chair work, including preparation, instruction, facilitation, student support, and evaluation. Approximately 20% is devoted to faculty leadership and scholarship, including curriculum and assessment work, mentoring colleagues, improving instructional practices, scholarship and research, and program improvement. The remaining 5% covers professional development, governance, advising, institutional support, representation at events, and other assignments. The position may involve travel to other teaching sites as university needs require.
