About The Position
Grand Canyon University's Colangelo College of Business (CCOB) is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach Management courses. This position is ideal for an industry expert who wants to share their expertise with undergraduate and graduate students. The college is particularly interested in applicants who can contribute to the diversity of the academic community. The role involves teaching management courses, promoting a business mindset, integrating faith and free market capitalism, and contributing to the development of future professionals. The position is located at GCU's main campus in Phoenix, Arizona.
Requirements
- PhD preferred or a DBA along with MBA or MS in Business Administration (preferably discipline emphasis on sports and entertainment management).
- Experience teaching sports management or similar topics.
- Significant (5+ years desired), documented, industry experience in the sports or entertainment business industry.
- Ideal candidates will have experience in both the sport and entertainment business industry with a strong understanding of event planning/execution, venue management and marketing of experiential events.
- Candidates who also have sports, events, entertainment or applied analytics will also be considered.
- Significant network of sports or entertainment industry relationships to provide student experience and student hiring/intern opportunities.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lectures that stimulate classroom discussions.
- Bring sports business and entertainment management concepts to life for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Network to provide internships and job placements.
- Continue to remain current in the field of management and effective teaching techniques.
- Participate in faculty and CCOB meetings and College/University committee activities.
- Support the integrity of the GCU Christian mission, faith integration & learning outcomes.
