About The Position

Join the KFI Team in Bangor! KFI is a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living full, independent lives within their communities. We are seeking energetic, creative, and compassionate individuals to join our growing team. At KFI, your ideas and work have a real impact, and no two days are the same. This position involves 1:1 support for two individuals, Lauren and Melissa, assisting them with daily living, community engagement, and personal interests.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Valid Maine Driver’s License (Required)
A Registered and Insured Vehicle (Required)
Evening and weekend availability

Nice To Haves

Experience with Apple technology is a plus for supporting Melissa.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support to Lauren, assisting with daily chores, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. Engage with Lauren in activities like D&D, anime, cartoons with dark humor, and hunting Pokémon. Support her in connecting with local D&D groups, spending time with friends, and meeting new people.
Provide 1:1 support to Melissa, assisting with cooking and baking, home maintenance, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Help Melissa connect with community members, strengthen relationships with friends and family, and attend musical events. Support her interests in shopping, coffee, and socializing.
Support individuals in their own homes and communities.
Engage with individuals in their interests, such as D&D, anime, shopping, music, and karaoke.
