About The Position
Join the KFI Team in Lincoln! KFI is a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living full, independent lives within their communities. We are seeking energetic, creative, and compassionate individuals to join our growing team. At KFI, no two days are the same, and your ideas and work will have a significant impact. This role involves supporting individuals like Pam, who lives independently in Mattawamkeag, enjoys history, music, outdoor activities, and social events. A typical day includes assisting with morning routines, engaging in activities like watching television, going for rides, visiting neighbors, shopping, running errands, and enjoying conversations. Despite challenges with clear speech, Pam is an excellent conversationalist who loves getting to know people.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Valid Maine Driver’s License (Required)
- A Registered and Insured Vehicle (Required)
- Evening and weekend availability
Responsibilities
- Help individuals get up and ready for the day.
- Engage in activities such as watching television, going for rides, visiting neighbors, shopping, and running errands.
- Drink coffee and joke around with the individual.
- Support individuals in their own homes and communities.
