About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by performing routine janitorial services at assigned locations. This position ensures all assigned cleaning tasks are completed according to company standards, client expectations, and safety procedures while contributing to a positive and professional work environment.

Requirements

  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work night shifts and travel to assigned work locations.
  • Continually required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, pallet jacks, and other equipment as required.
  • Regular use of a mobile phone for communication and work-related tasks.
  • Hearing and vision sufficient to safely perform job duties.
  • Work is performed in warehouse, retail, grocery, or distribution environments.
  • Must be willing to work varying shifts based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of assigned areas, including floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and empty trash receptacles.
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces according to company standards.
  • Replenish restroom and facility supplies as needed.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Report any maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Properly handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Keep emergency exits, eyewash stations, and walkways clear and accessible.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Clean and maintain assigned cleaning equipment after each shift.
  • Drain, clean, and charge equipment as required.
  • Return all tools, equipment, wet floor signs, mop buckets, brooms, and supplies to designated storage areas.
  • Ensure propane tanks are safely returned to the designated storage cage when applicable.
  • Maintain janitorial closets in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition.
  • Notify the supervisor of supply shortages, equipment issues, accidents, or facility concerns.
  • Complete assigned checklists and documentation accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding daily assignments and any operational concerns.
  • Participate in walkthroughs with store management when requested.
