About The Position

Altimate Outdoor is seeking its first full-time, in-house developer to own the company's internal and customer-facing web applications. This role is crucial for executing the company's technology and AI strategies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive builder who can understand business needs, collaborate with non-technical team members, and develop robust software solutions. The developer will be responsible for a range of applications including the CRM-style internal system, lead integrations, leadership dashboards, and future AI-driven workflows. Requirements

  • Shipped real production software that real people depend on, and have been accountable when it broke.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals and translate their needs into buildable specifications.
  • Experience building internal tools, CRMs, dashboards, or scheduling applications for business operations.
  • Comfort working in a faith-rooted company environment.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with experience in React, Angular, Vue, or equivalent front-end frameworks.
  • Proficiency in back-end development with Node.js, Python (Django/FastAPI), C#/.NET, PHP/Laravel, Ruby on Rails, or equivalent.
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, including writing SQL queries.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD and real production deployment processes, including handling failures.
  • Experience with API and webhook integrations.
  • Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Copilot) for development speed.
  • Ability to articulate opinions on how to effectively use AI in a business context.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience specifically with AWS.
  • Prior experience building internal tools or CRMs.
  • Experience with integrations for contractor, remodeling, or home services platforms (e.g., MarketSharp, JobNimbus, Improveit 360, ServiceTitan, Jobber, HubSpot).
  • Experience with lead pipelines from Google Local Services, Houzz, or Angi.
  • Demonstrated rollback discipline.
  • Experience migrating a business off an existing CRM.

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop internal and customer-facing web applications.
  • Manage and improve the CRM-style internal system.
  • Develop integrations for lead capture from various sources (website, dealer networks, Google, Houzz, Angi).
  • Create and maintain dashboards for leadership decision-making.
  • Build AI-driven workflows to streamline team processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership on technology strategy, including build vs. buy decisions.
  • Address and resolve software issues, ensuring the reliability of applications.
  • Ship features that improve daily workflows for sales, designers, installers, and operations.
  • Participate in production meetings to understand operational needs before development.
  • Manage software releases, including potential early-morning deployments.
  • Document technical decisions and system architecture.
  • Ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and a focus on making things right.
