  • Ability to communicate with non-technical people and translate their needs into buildable specifications.
  • Understanding of the business and its operations.
  • Proficiency with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Copilot) and an understanding of their limitations.
  • Experience owning and maintaining a few key systems rather than many.
  • Experience building internal tools, CRMs, dashboards, or scheduling apps for business operations.
  • Humble, dedicated, and persistent team player.
  • Comfortable working in a faith-rooted company.
  • Solid understanding across front-end and back-end development.
  • JavaScript/TypeScript with React, Angular, Vue, or equivalent.
  • Back-end experience with Node.js, Python (Django/FastAPI), C#/.NET, PHP/Laravel, Ruby on Rails, or equivalent.
  • Database experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, including writing SQL.
  • Cloud and deployment experience with AWS (preferred) or comparable platforms.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, and production deployments.
  • Experience with API and webhook integrations.
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding and AI workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience specifically within the contractor, home services, or remodeling business sector.
  • Experience working within an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) environment.

  • Experience with Google Local Services / Houzz / Angi lead pipelines.
  • Experience with rollback discipline.
  • Experience migrating a business off an existing CRM.

Responsibilities

  • Own internal and customer-facing web applications, including a CRM-style internal system.
  • Develop integrations for lead capture from various sources (website, dealer networks, Google, Houzz, Angi).
  • Build dashboards for leadership decision-making.
  • Develop AI-driven workflows to improve team efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leadership on technology strategy and feature prioritization.
  • Ship features that improve daily workflows for sales, designers, and installers.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues with existing applications and lead sources.
  • Understand production workflows by attending meetings.
  • Manage software releases, including early-morning deployments.
  • Write documentation and explain technical tradeoffs for leadership decisions.
  • Drive up to Glandorf or Powell quarterly to understand the business operations.
  • Ensure software is reliable, maintainable, and well-documented.
  • Implement CI/CD practices and maintain production deployment discipline.
  • Make software right when it's not, with no exceptions.
