About The Position

The Tensilica Products Group of Cadence is a leading provider of processor IP for audio, vision, and AI applications in embedded platforms. We are looking for a skilled, creative Software Engineer to help design, build, and maintain our Processor Generator user interface systems and supporting infrastructure. User interface systems include Eclipse based products, Web applications and VS Code and Thea based systems. In this role, you will work across the full product life cycle - analyzing user needs; designing and developing UI components, backend systems, database interfaces, and web applications; and automated testing. You will also help shape the next generation of our tooling by integrating Agentic AI methodologies into our products. This is a great opportunity for a versatile engineer who enjoys working close to processor and architecture teams while building tools that developers rely on every day.

Requirements

Master’s degree in computer science or a related field + 5 years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree + 7 years of related experience
Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and ability to take initiative
Experience building applications inside an IDE framework (Eclipse, VS Code or Thea)
Experience building React web applications that interact with SQL databases based on REST services
Experience working developing SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience designing / building test systems for web and IDE based applications
Fluency working with and scripting tasks on Windows and Linux systems
Foundational understanding of computer architecture

Nice To Haves

Experience developing AI agents and Agentic AI workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Components of an Eclipse-based IDE product that provides sophisticated functionality for processor designers
Web REST API servlets that support remote product functionality connecting to systems and databases
Web applications supporting both customers and internal infrastructure
Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of designs within time and cost constraints.
Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, upgrade interfaces, and improve performance.
Evolve SQL and other databases to support future functionality
Engineer tests and integrate features into new releases; support application teams during test phases.
Incorporate Agentic AI workflows into product features and design.
Collaborate with hardware, architecture, IDE and support teams to enable and deliver new features.
