About The Position

Freddie Mac is seeking a hands-on Full Stack Tech Lead Engineer to lead the design and delivery of modern enterprise applications, with a strong emphasis on UI/UX, front-end architecture, accessibility, and user-centered engineering. The role combines full stack engineering with technical leadership: establishing reusable front-end patterns, translating complex business workflows into clear user experiences, defining service and API integration approaches, and guiding engineers through architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support. The position is within the Identity and Access Management team in the Enterprise Business Technology Operation organization. The team provides software development, enhancements, and production support for enterprise groups. This role will support IAM platform stability, operational efficiency, incident response, service delivery improvements, process optimization, automation, and proactive risk management. The engineer will lead front-end and full stack architecture, contribute hands-on, partner with product owners and stakeholders, create production-quality interfaces, design and integrate APIs and services, and guide technical reviews, testing, mentoring, and technical-debt reduction. Freddie Mac offers a comprehensive total rewards package and an annual incentive program. The position is full time and exempt, with an annualized market-based salary range of $138,000 to $206,000.

  • Hands-on technical credibility across UI, services, APIs, data, testing, security, and production support.
  • Ability to simplify complex user and business workflows without compromising control, security, or maintainability.
  • Strong collaboration with product, architecture, information security, infrastructure, and engineering partners.
  • Clear communication of technical decisions, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • A player-coach mindset combining architecture ownership, coding, mentoring, and delivery accountability.
