About The Position

Nuro is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join the Fleet Platform & Operations Tooling team. This role involves building internal tools and platform systems that Nuro's operations, engineering, and partner teams rely on to manage, monitor, and maintain their autonomous vehicle fleet. It's a hands-on product engineering position at the intersection of fleet operations and software infrastructure, where you will own features end-to-end. You will build responsive frontends to display real-time vehicle and fleet data, and design backend services that integrate with onboard systems, cloud infrastructure, and partner APIs. The systems you build will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of Nuro's vehicle operations on public roads.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  • Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript for building production web applications.
  • Solid understanding of web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, browser APIs, and modern frontend tooling.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful or gRPC APIs.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS).
  • Ability to work across the stack.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional mindset.

  • Experience with Protocol Buffers and gRPC.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code.
  • Background in the autonomous vehicle, robotics, logistics, or automotive industry.
  • Experience working with partner or third-party integrations at scale.
  • Interest in frontend platform work: design systems, shared component libraries, and developer tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, and modern web development practices.
  • Develop backend services and APIs that integrate with vehicle systems, cloud infrastructure, and external partner platforms.
  • Build tools that enable fleet monitoring, vehicle health tracking, maintenance workflows, and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, UX, Operations, and partner integration teams to define requirements and deliver user-facing products.
  • Own features end-to-end: scoping, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration based on user feedback.
  • Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, component libraries, and shared platform patterns used across the organization.
  • Improve system reliability through testing, monitoring, alerting, and production support practices.

Benefits

  • annual performance bonus
