Full Stack Engineer - Cloud & On Premise
About The Position
Syntiant Corp. is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to maintain and enhance cloud-based applications deployed on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), as well as software deployed on customer systems. The role involves working across cloud and on-premises environments, with occasional travel to customer sites. The engineer will develop Python APIs, manage application deployments and infrastructure, support data storage and retrieval, and help automate testing and deployment. They will also work with customers to deploy Syntiant software on customer compute systems and networks, including private clouds, and maintain on-premises servers and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and experience in API development.
- Hands-on experience with AWS EKS, including deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure services such as S3, RDS, and VPCs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of database systems, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Experience with on-premises storage solutions such as Ceph and NFS.
- Expertise in Linux system administration.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code and perform thorough testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for U.S. security clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Active security clearance.
- Experience with cloud-native observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes operators and Helm charts.
- Knowledge of on-premises container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar technologies.
- Experience with DevOps best practices and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS EKS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Integrate with data sources and services, including MongoDB and PostgreSQL, for data storage and retrieval.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team on integrating cloud-native tools and practices.
- Work with customers to deploy Syntiant software on customer compute systems and networks, including private cloud environments.
- Maintain on-premises servers running Ceph, PostgreSQL, and NFS services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production environments.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Syntiant cybersecurity staff.
