About The Position

Syntiant Corp. is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to maintain and enhance cloud-based applications deployed on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), as well as applications deployed on customer systems. The role works across cloud and on-premises environments and includes occasional travel to customer sites. The engineer will develop and manage software and infrastructure, collaborate with DevOps and cybersecurity staff, and help customers deploy Syntiant software on their compute systems and networks, including private cloud environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with API development.
• Hands-on experience deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes containerization technologies.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure services such as S3, RDS, and VPCs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of database systems, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Experience with on-premises storage solutions such as Ceph and NFS.
• Expertise in Linux system administration.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and perform thorough testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Eligibility for U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Occasional travel to customer sites is required.

Nice To Haves

• Active security clearance is preferred.
• Experience with cloud-native observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes operators and Helm charts.
• Knowledge of on-premises container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar technologies.
• Experience with DevOps best practices and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS EKS to support availability, scalability, and performance.
• Integrate data sources and services, including MongoDB and PostgreSQL, for data storage and retrieval.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team on cloud-native tools and practices.
• Work with customers to deploy Syntiant software on customer compute systems and networks, including private cloud environments.
• Maintain on-premises servers running Ceph, PostgreSQL, and NFS services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production environments.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Coordinate and collaborate with Syntiant cybersecurity staff.
