About The Position

This role involves end-to-end feature development, including schema and migrations, Go services and APIs, and React interfaces. The engineer will be responsible for API design, building contracts for internal and customer systems, and front-end architecture, including component and state boundaries, data-fetching patterns, and application performance. Additionally, the role includes building internal tooling for engineering, data, and operations teams, application architecture (service boundaries, processing, caching, multi-tenant design), and AWS architecture (service selection, operational and failure scenarios). The engineer will also own quality and operations, including testing, deployment, and production support, and will act as a senior reviewer and mentor to other engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including ownership of features end to end
• Strong application architecture judgment
• Strong experience with a statically typed backend language
• Production experience with TypeScript and React
• Strong understanding of API design
• Experience designing and maintaining relational databases
• Knowledge of schema design, migrations, indexing, and query planning

Nice To Haves

• Go and TypeScript experience preferred
• Strong Java, C#, or Rust engineers willing to work with Go/TypeScript may also be considered

Responsibilities

• End-to-end feature development: Schema and migrations, Go services and APIs, and React interfaces

• Internal tooling: Build systems used by engineering, data, and operations teams
• Application architecture: Service boundaries, synchronous versus queued processing, caching, and multi-tenant design
• AWS architecture: Select the right AWS services and understand operational and failure scenarios
• Quality and operations: Own testing, deployment, and production support for the solutions you build
• Technical reviews and mentoring: Act as a senior reviewer and help other engineers improve
