About The Position

The Music team owns music and sound effects end to end at ElevenLabs. They transform research breakthroughs into APIs and creative tools, encompassing backend systems for new models and user interfaces within ElevenCreative. The role involves working with research and research engineering to deploy model improvements into production, building and managing the APIs, and collaborating with go-to-market teams on feature prioritization, including bespoke enterprise solutions. Engineers are expected to act as Product Managers, taking ambiguous goals and breaking them down into actionable plans, considering legal aspects, engineering approaches, and launch strategies. System design should accommodate future model upgrades, and engineering is often only half the job, requiring collaboration across various departments and customer interaction.

Requirements

A strong Full-Stack Engineer with a backend lean.
Experience building and shipping production APIs and backend systems.
A product decomposition mindset; ability to take a vague goal, weigh trade-offs, and ship without analysis paralysis.
Proactive ownership; ability to drive work end to end without a ticket board or assigned tasks.
Comfortable working across research, legal, safety, growth, design, and enterprise customers.
Genuinely excited about music and AI.
Ability to operate in Central European timezones.

Nice To Haves

Music or audio experience (even as a hobby).
Experience shipping ML models into production.

Responsibilities

Work with research and research engineering to bring model improvements into production.
Build and run the APIs behind new models.
Sync with go-to-market teams to decide which features get built next.
Occasionally join customer calls for technical discussions.
Break down ambiguous goals into actionable plans.
Design systems that allow for future model swaps.
Collaborate with legal, safety, growth, design, and enterprise customers.
