About The Position

Join Deloitte AI & Engineering to transform technology platforms, drive innovation, and help clients improve financial performance, accelerate digital ventures, and fuel growth. This position is a Center Delivery Senior Consultant, Software Engineering Solutions, on the Engineering as a Service team within Deloitte’s Government & Public Services practice and US Delivery Center model. The team delivers end-to-end design, implementation, and technology operations, using engineering expertise and a product engineering mindset to modernize technology and deliver complex programs. The role builds agents using a layered SDK contract, keeps business logic in composable skills, and integrates multiple LLM providers behind a shared sanitization and audit boundary. It also implements durable service boundaries and tenant isolation, connects agents to an event-driven orchestrator with human-in-the-loop approvals, and contributes to architecture linting and CI. US Delivery Center professionals work from a designated delivery center location, with nominal travel requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • 3–6 years of backend Python experience, including deep async and service-design expertise and practical LLM-application experience.
  • 3–6 years of experience with Docker, SQL, Tailwind CSS 4, and React.js.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, audit and compliance (HIPAA, FedRAMP, or SOX), and data domains.

Responsibilities

  • Build agents against a layered SDK contract, including shared types and tools, composable tools, a thin agent shell, and FastAPI and React surfaces.
  • Keep business logic in composable skills rather than agent shells or routers.
  • Integrate LLMs through a multi-provider abstraction for Anthropic, Bedrock, OpenAI, and Azure, with extensions to Vertex and OCI, behind a single sanitization and audit boundary.
  • Implement durable service boundaries, including asynchronous persistence, object-storage artifacts, and a tamper-evident hash-chain audit trail for each run.
  • Enforce tenant isolation through Postgres RLS-scoped sessions and author Alembic migrations, including enum and DDL idempotency and RLS policies.
  • Connect agents to an event-driven orchestrator with human-in-the-loop approval gates, exposing progress through asynchronous tasks using Celery and Redis and through WebSocket.
  • Ship behind mechanical architecture linting and CI, and contribute new invariant checks.
  • Lead projects or workstreams and provide clear guidance to others.

Benefits

  • Broad range of employee benefits.
  • May be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the program rules and applicable factors.
  • Opportunities to build new skills, take on leadership opportunities, and grow through mentorship and formal development programs.
