About The Position

AstroHire has partnered with Navajo Power Home to hire its next full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper. Navajo Power Home is a next-generation utility provider established in 2021 with the vision of bringing the power of the sun to all homes on Navajo and Hopi Nation that are seeking good quality, consistent and reliable electricity service. The NPH Full Charge Bookkeeper will manage all accounting operations for Navajo Power, handling everything from daily transactions (AP/AR, payroll, bank reconciliations) to month-end reporting and financial statement preparation, providing a complete financial picture that requires accuracy, software proficiency (e.g., QuickBooks), and integrity.

Requirements

Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a minimum of 3-5+ years.
Expertise in accounting software (QuickBooks, Peachtree), Excel, etc..
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), AP/AR, payroll, and tax regulations.
High accuracy, attention to detail, problem-solving, integrity, and strong organizational skills.
Maximizing benefits from Investment Tax Credits (ITC) and Production Tax Credits (PTC).
Ensuring viability and profitability of large-scale solar projects.
Navigating evolving energy regulations and compliance.
Building finance systems to support rapid organic and inorganic growth.

Responsibilities

Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers (AP/AR).
Record, classify, and post financial transactions, ensuring accuracy.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts monthly.
Process payroll, timesheets, and related tax filings.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet).
Manage the entire closing process for month/year-end.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Analyze reports and identify discrepancies or cost-saving opportunities.
