About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is hiring a Fulfillment Package Handler to distribute materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations within its fulfillment center. The role is full-time and scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Approximately five hours of overtime may be expected each week; overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $19.00–$24.25 per hour, based on experience, with starting pay determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. Employees are generally hired below the maximum of the range, with compensation increases based on company policies, performance, and individual development. The position is Paygrade A and nonexempt. The handler moves, sorts, scans, stacks, and secures freight; assists with order picking; follows safety procedures; and performs light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight in the warehouse.
Ability to work with freight that may include hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in the distribution or transportation industry preferred.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and move palletized freight by hand and with manual and power pallet jacks.
Un-palletize and sort freight according to product type and/or destination.
Scan package barcode labels for tracking and billing purposes.
Stack freight onto pallets to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Secure palletized freight for shipment using shrink wrap machines.
Assist in picking products according to customer requests.
Follow safety protocols and regulations and report unsafe acts to management.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other required duties as assigned.
