The BOSS (Buy Online Ship from Store) process enhances the customer shopping experience by utilizing retail store inventory to quickly locate and ship products to customers. The BOSS Fulfillment Outfitter is responsible for filling BOSS orders, which includes sorting, picking, packing, and loading merchandise for shipment to direct customers and retail stores. This role ensures merchandise is handled with care to maintain its quality and appearance for customers. The position involves various back-room tasks such as receiving and inspecting merchandise, filling orders, and preparing items for shipment. While the role may focus on specific areas, the Outfitter is expected to be knowledgeable and capable of performing duties across multiple functions. This includes sorting merchandise into order groups, packing items using appropriate materials, applying labels, and visually inspecting products. The Outfitter will also fill customer orders by pulling merchandise from stock locations and placing it in designated containers. Moving merchandise within the warehouse using equipment or manually loading/unloading trailers is also part of the job. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to procedures, and attending mandatory training are essential. Additionally, the role may require assisting customers on the sales floor during store hours and communicating any issues affecting job execution, such as short picks, out-of-stocks, or supply needs.
