About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing and processing hazardous materials shipping documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating domestic and international shipments. The coordinator will communicate with various stakeholders, work with warehouse staff on proper handling, maintain records, and assist in resolving discrepancies. General administrative tasks are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (email and Microsoft Excel as a minimum)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with hazardous materials shipping and/or regulatory compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with international freight logistics (ocean and/or air)
  • IMDG and/or IATA Dangerous Goods certification

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process hazardous materials shipping documentation, including review of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Dangerous Goods declarations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including IMDG, IATA, and DOT requirements
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments via ocean and air freight
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, carriers, vendors, and customers regarding shipment scheduling, tracking, and delivery
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of hazardous materials
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation
  • Assist in resolving shipment discrepancies
  • Perform general administrative and office support tasks as needed
