About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining, setting up, operating, and tearing down the line, effectively able to run multiple machines, responsible for ensuring assigned equipment is set up and running according to the production schedule including labels, units, product components, and Packaging, etc., have the ability to know basic set up, troubleshooting, and adjustment on multiple machines while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Less than 4 attendance points.
  • No Final Attendance warning in the previous six (6) months.
  • No Written Warning for Job Performance In the previous six (6) months.
  • Employees cannot have any active disciplinary actions on file within the past 6 months.
  • Must be willing and able to lift 50 pounds and/or move up to 100 pounds 100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a cold environment (30 -40°F temperatures).
  • Must be willing and able to walk 100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to reach with hands, arms, and fingers to handle or feel 100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 100% of the time up to 10 hours per day.

  • Ability to know basic set up, troubleshooting, and adjustment on multiple machines.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to run a multitude of machines of varying difficulty.
  • Operate and set up machines in more than one area of the plant.
  • Ensures all production equipment is prepared on time for production.
  • Responsible for ensuring assigned equipment is set up and running according to the production schedule, including labels, units, product components, Packaging, etc.
  • Performs refilling/restocking of glue, cartons, label stock, and printing materials on machines. This includes unloading from a pallet.
  • Responsible for adjusting metal detectors, belts, and packaging as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and contact the Maintenance Mechanic if necessary.
  • Interacts with Supervisors and Line Operators to determine equipment set-up and operation.
  • Assists lower-level staff.
  • May train new or recently promoted associates.
  • Works with the Quality Assurance Department to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
