About The Position

This position is responsible for field fueling, lubing, and servicing of construction equipment under the coordination of dispatch. The role involves operating and safely driving an assigned vehicle, following dispatch routes, and maintaining communication with project supervisors, superintendents, project managers, and dispatch. Responsibilities include confirming deliveries, performing vehicle inspections, checking weather and road conditions, and maintaining the vehicle. The driver will also adhere to delivery schedules, maintain logs, provide shop and field support, and comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations, including OSHA, ICC, and DOT regulations. Regular attendance and adherence to safety procedures are crucial.

Requirements

Clean driving record with no violations, and must be able to clear a background check and drug screen.
Knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to commercial vehicles.
Able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Able to work on an individual basis and in a team environment.
Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
Ability to push/pull 80+ lbs.
Ability to lift/carry 80+ lbs.
Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials.
Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to steel-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid Class A driver’s license with a clear MVR and Medical Card required.
HAZMAT and Tanker endorsement required.

Nice To Haves

2+ years proven experience driving commercial vehicle in construction environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
Follow dispatch route, plan route changes, and prioritize jobs.
Maintain alignment with project supervisors, superintendent, project manager, and dispatch.
Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries, as required.
Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery.
Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change fluids & filters, tire pressure, repairs, etc.) and ensure vehicle is maintained clean.
Follow the delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times.
Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs, and track and report working hours.
Provide ad hoc support and assistance in the daily operation of the shop and field activities.
Communicate with dispatch to report issues and as needed.
Adhere to company rules and regulations.
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.
Comply with OSHA, ICC, and DOT regulations.
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and policies while promoting the company’s safety culture.
Perform other duties of a similar or related nature as assigned.
