About The Position

The Fuel Processing Operator works in an industrial environment at Tradebe’s East Chicago, Indiana facility, operating a unit that processes the contents of incoming drums. The role involves handling and staging materials, preparing waste streams for processing, carrying out processing operations, and maintaining accurate records. The operator follows applicable regulations, standards, and internal policies to support environmental, health, and safety compliance.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Forklift experience is preferred.
Knowledge of the hazardous waste industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

Follow regulations, standards, and internal policies to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Operate a hydraulic arm to secure drums and a hoe to scrape drum contents into the unit.
Unload incoming trailers and process waste streams.
Place or locate material in appropriate staging and storage areas.
Prepare material for processing operations.
Conduct daily forklift inspections.
Perform simple maintenance activities, such as cleaning and adding fluids.
Accurately track drum storage and record material movements on tracking sheets as needed.
Perform processing operations and other duties as needed.
