About The Position

The Fuel Payables Rep is an entry-level individual contributor responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the fuel payables team. This role assists with invoice entry, EDI file processing, vendor AR statement review, and exception identification under the guidance of the Supervisor and Senior Fuel Payables Analyst. The Fuel Payables Rep develops foundational skills in accounts payable processes, individual cost line 3-way matching, and RightAngle while working accurately and efficiently to meet all deadlines.

Requirements

  • Foundational knowledge of or interest in accounts payable processes; willingness to learn invoice entry, 3-way matching, and exception management in a fuel payables environment.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and efficiently to meet deadlines; systematic approach to record keeping.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and keep files and source documents current and organized.
  • Working knowledge of Excel including basic formulas and data entry; willingness to learn RightAngle and SAP required.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience in a professional accounting environment.
  • 1+ years of experience; entry-level candidates and recent graduates welcome; non-accounting experience such as tax or administrative roles will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Record and track invoices and payable transactions in RightAngle accurately and by required deadlines; support month-end close by ensuring all entries are completed on time.
  • Assist with EDI file processing and vendor AR statement review; identify exceptions and work with Senior Analyst or Supervisor to resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate with external vendors and internal departments including Supply & Logistics to support resolution of invoice discrepancies under guidance of Supervisor or Senior Analyst.
  • Help maintain organized and audit-ready records including invoice copies and supporting documentation; assist with gathering documentation for SOX and audit requests as directed.
  • Support the team with various accounts payable tasks as assigned, learning foundational processes and developing proficiency in core fuel payables responsibilities.
