About The Position

The Fuel Quality Control Specialist is responsible for helping ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of aviation fuel operations through inspection, testing oversight, documentation review, and process monitoring. This role supports safe and reliable fuel handling by verifying adherence to established standards, identifying deficiencies, and promoting corrective actions across line service and fueling activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical, aviation, or quality-related education preferred.
  • Experience in aviation fueling, fuel farm operations, line service, ground handling, quality control, or a related operational environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of aviation fuel handling principles, contamination risks, safe fueling practices, and inspection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret procedures, checklists, technical instructions, and inspection documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and observational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to report findings clearly and professionally.
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems and standard office software for tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a safety-sensitive environment.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on the role and equipment access needs.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and shift-based assignments as operationally required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with aviation fuel quality checks, fuel system inspections, or fuel storage and distribution operations.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices, audit processes, and corrective action tracking.
  • Experience in a business aviation, airport operations, or FBO environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor fuel handling and storage activities to help ensure compliance with established quality, safety, and operational standards. This includes observing fuel receipt, storage, sampling, equipment condition, and aircraft fueling-related practices as applicable.
  • Conduct routine inspections of fuel farms, trucks, carts, cabinets, hoses, nozzles, bonding equipment, filter monitors or other applicable systems, and related fueling infrastructure to verify cleanliness, serviceability, and operational readiness.
  • Review fuel quality control records, inspection logs, sampling documentation, maintenance records, and test results for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with required procedures.
  • Support or perform fuel quality checks in accordance with approved procedures, such as visual inspections, water detection, cleanliness verification, and control measure monitoring, where authorized and trained.
  • Identify non-conformities, procedural deviations, contamination risks, and equipment-related concerns, then document findings and escalate issues promptly to the appropriate leadership or technical personnel.
  • Assist in investigations involving fuel quality events, contamination concerns, service interruptions, equipment discrepancies, or procedural noncompliance, while tracking corrective actions through resolution.
  • Partner with line service, operations, safety, maintenance, and leadership teams to improve standardization, strengthen quality controls, and reduce recurring issues.
  • Help maintain audit readiness by organizing quality records, inspection documentation, corrective action logs, and other required operational files.
  • Provide operational feedback and support training reinforcement by identifying recurring quality gaps and procedural weaknesses.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, environmental awareness, procedural discipline, and attention to detail in all fueling-related activities.
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
