The Fuel Distribution System Operator receives, stores, transfers, and issues fuel through pipelines at main line or terminal stations. This role involves receiving fuel by tanker, shipping fuel by pipeline, tank car, tank truck, and barge. Responsibilities include preparing and checking receiving or ship's documents, connecting lines, grounding wires, and loading/offloading arms or hoses to pipelines. The operator will visually inspect fuel samples, check gravity and flashpoint, gauge tanks for water, temperature, and fuel levels, and monitor pumping systems for correct operating pressure or unusual noises. Additionally, the role entails performing preventive maintenance and repairs on terminal systems, assisting in the maintenance of government-owned railroad loading and switch areas, and performing general housekeeping and grounds maintenance for terminal, pipeline, and dock areas. A current "CDL A" with tanker & hazmat endorsements is required.
