About The Position

F. F. Hitchcock Company is seeking a safety-oriented and motivated Fuel Delivery Driver to join their team. This is a local driving position, meaning you'll be home every night. Requirements

Class B CDL with tanker (N) and hazardous materials (H) endorsements (company can assist in obtaining endorsements).
Current DOT medical certification.
Clean driving record.
Ability to pass DOT testing.
Comfort working outdoors in all seasons, including winter.
Must successfully pass a background check.
Must successfully pass pre-employment drug testing.

Nice To Haves

Class A CDL.
Familiarity with central Connecticut roads/neighborhoods.
Experience delivering propane or home heating oil.

Responsibilities

Run metered routes to safely deliver home heating oil and propane to residential and light commercial clients.
Maintain high levels of safety and caution when handling flammable materials.
Speak with customers about their deliveries and professionally represent the company.
Pull tickets, run routes, and operate the hose in all weather conditions.
Fill out DOT paperwork.
Inspect the truck to keep it in good condition.
Gain leadership experience by training new drivers, owning a route book, managing difficult stops, and responding to spills or delivery refusals.
