Requirements

Class B CDL with tanker (N) and hazardous materials (H) endorsements (company can assist in obtaining endorsements).
Current DOT medical certification.
Clean driving record.
Ability to pass DOT testing.
Comfort working outdoors in all seasons, including winter.
Must successfully pass a background check.
Must pass pre-employment drug testing.

Nice To Haves

Class A CDL.
Familiarity with central Connecticut roads/neighborhoods.
Experience delivering propane or home heating oil.

Responsibilities

Safely deliver home heating oil and propane to residential and light commercial clients via metered routes.
Maintain high levels of safety and caution when handling flammable materials.
Communicate professionally with customers regarding deliveries.
Pull tickets and run routes.
Operate the hose in all weather conditions.
Complete DOT paperwork.
Inspect the truck to ensure it is in good condition.
Gain leadership experience by training new drivers, managing a route book, handling difficult stops, and responding to spills or delivery refusals.
