About The Position

Nwestco is seeking dependable Compliance Helpers and Compliance Technicians to join their Sacramento team. The company has been in the petroleum equipment and fuel systems industry for over 25 years and is growing. This role involves field work testing and inspecting fuel systems at gas stations and commercial sites, working with various components like USTs, ASTs, piping, sensors, and leak detectors. The position offers steady, year-round work with a company that values safety, training, and employee well-being. Requirements

  • Experience around petroleum equipment, fuel systems, or compliance testing is preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work in the field
  • Comfortable working independently and staying organized
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record over the past 5 years
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical with extensive lifting (up to 75 lb), twisting, pulling, kneeling, and squatting
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug-screening and background check
  • Must pass a comprehensive drug test, including screening for marijuana, as a condition of employment

Responsibilities

  • Test and inspect fuel systems at gas stations and commercial sites
  • Work on USTs, ASTs, piping, sensors, tank monitors, and leak detectors
  • Perform annual and required compliance testing
  • Check leak detection, vapor recovery, spill buckets, and overfill systems
  • Complete reports and document test results
  • Help identify problems and work with service techs to get issues fixed
  • Maintain testing equipment and keep it job-ready
  • Follow all safety procedures around fuel systems and hazardous materials
