About The Position

Loads, unloads, and moves material and maintains material within or near the plant, yard, or work site. This role requires the ability to work independently, maintain high productivity, and ensure a clean and organized work area. The Material Handler is responsible for managing various types of materials, including raw materials, work-in-progress parts, finished goods, and packaging materials.

Requirements

• Read and understand job sheets, work instructions and route tags.
• Utilize applicable measuring equipment, work instructions and control plans.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Demonstrate ability to set up and operate equipment without supervision.
• Demonstrate ability to run equipment without breakdown and maintain productivity based on historical run times.
• Demonstrate the ability to complete all applicable paperwork associated with this job title.
• Familiar with lockout/tagout and other safety related issues associated with this job title.
• Demonstrates basic computer skills.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Follows safe work procedures and work orders.
• Use a forklift.
• Loads and unloads material such as raw material, finished goods, packing material, etc.
• Operates banding machines and wood cutting saw for material needed for shipments.
• May build specific packaging for shipments using wood, metal banding, plastic or other wrapping materials.
• Creates/Prints/Attaches Plex labels for all outgoing shipments including master units and individual skids.
• Maintains paperwork involved, including but not limited to email, Bill of Ladings, Packing Lists, etc.
• Must be able to maintain high productivity with little supervision.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean work area.
• Organizes and maintains all areas where raw material, WIP parts, finished goods and packaging are located or stored.
• Conducts weekly/monthly cycle counts with Supply Chain Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
